I'm a third-year physics major teaching myself robotics and electrical engineering by building things. Right now that mostly means a low-cost manipulator arm — servo drivers, kinematics, and control loops written from scratch rather than pulled off a shelf. I came to this through FRC, where I now mentor, and I'm headed toward graduate work in robotics with an interest in controls and hardware.
Learning
Rigid-body motion and kinematics. Chapter 3 material went straight into the FK implementation on the arm; working toward velocity kinematics and the Jacobian.
Working through Steve Brunton's control series alongside the hardware, so each idea has something physical to land on.
Building
Next: servo characterization and a hand-written PID controller
Pending: deployment and CMS authentication
Research
Nothing active right now.
